Book Haul: July + August + September 2015

2015 Book Haul Part. 2-2

Do you guys remember my previous Book Haul? The extremely long one? Well I didn’t want you guys to suffer through that again, so instead of making a 2015 Part 2 post comprising of six months, I’m going to split these remaining months of 2015 in two. So yup, here is 2015 Part 2 out of 3, which shares my purchases from the months of July through September!

I know it’s not the end of September yet but I honestly don’t plan to buy any more books for the rest of the month for obvious reasons. Well except for one-I preordered my copy of Six of Crows months ago. (I’m seriously so excited for that one, omg.)

And I was feeling ambitious and had this super cool idea that I’d do image mapping for this post since I have considerably less books than my last (lieslieslies), so if you click on the book in the photo you should be directed to its Goodreads details. It took me a while to do this, but I hope you guys find it helpful. Enjoy!

JULY was a pretty successful month in regards to purchasing books to complete the collection of series. I now have the entire Burn for Burn, Under the Never Sky, and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo trilogies. The Moon and More is actually one I won in a giveaway. I’m still surprised by that actually because I never win giveaways. Anyway, now I’ve completed my Sarah Dessen collection, so hurrah for that.

These are all my AUGUST buys not including the textbooks that I did purchase for school. I thought you’d guys be fine without me including those, haha. Oh and there’s two photos because… after taking the first photo on the left and putting away all those books I realized I forgot two buys, the two orange-y books in the later photograph on the right, lol.

So I don’t usually cave into the hype but yeah… that’s kind of what happened in SEPTEMBER for some of these purchases…

I’m slowly warming up to the idea of e-books, and I kind of feel proud that not all of my buys were physical books. E-books are just so convenient and don’t take up shelf space, you know? Not to mention the dictionary feature is really handy.

This is actually a scheduled post. I took this yesterday (or I guess today) at midnight so I apologize for the weird-ish lighting. I tried cropping out the glares from my computer...

Lastly, this is a photo of the physical ARCs and review copies that I’ve received throughout July, August, and September. If you’re curious and want to go to their Goodreads pages, click on the respective title below. I just got lazy with image mapping, haha. Also you’ll notice there are more links to books than actually photographed. That is because a lot of my ARCs were electronic copies, and their covers weren’t interesting so I didn’t think you guys cared for a screenshot of those. Also, I have links to my reviews if I’ve already posted them.

Ahh, me too!! After I finish reading a couple of more books to restabilize my Netgalley ratio, I’m definitely going to pick that Mara Dyer and The Winner’s Curse, which was from my last haul months ago. And I’m so glad you approve so many of these titles, Marie. I’m really looking forward to them!

Not to mention you can connect your library and borrow books electronically. That is just too convenient and makes me even more of a lazy bum, haha. And I’ve had Leviathan for years. I must pick it up someday, especially now that I have the later installments!

I’m so impressed with your image mapping!! Thanks for doing that. And I have so much book jealousy right now. Those Leviathan covers look so pretty. I haven’t read any Scott Westerfeld yet but when I do, I’ll probably start with Leviathan. The steampunk elements will be really interesting!

I also need to go back and reread all the Sarah Dessen books I own, and buy the rest of the ones I don’t have. I love Sarah Dessen!!! Also, I’m pleased to see your Jennifer E. Smith books. I loved all of her books and I also loved all of Stephanie Perkins’ books too.

      Thanks so much, Jenna!

Westerfeld is a pretty good writer from what I can remember. I’ve only read the Uglies series by him and I really enjoyed it despite the hate it received. And I haven’t read Leviathan but I’m pretty excited for the steampunk elements as well. I haven’t delved into steampunk much yet. Aside from TID, but that’s not too steampunk heavy.

AND OH MY GOSH. I had no idea you loved Sarah Dessen! I still haven’t read The Moon and More and Dreamland, but I really want to soon while it’s still summer-y weather. And awesome, I’m really looking forward to Anna and the French Kiss. ^.^

A lot of great books! Now just to get to them all… 😉 I love ebooks for when I’m travelling. I still bring one or two regular books, but I know I’ll never run out of books to read when I have my ereader with me!

EXCUSE ME WHILE I FANGIRL. And honestly, your photography looks great – even if you mentioned the glare and stuff, you did a pretty fine job of editing because those books look gorgeous ^-^ Annnnd, you buy a lot of books. Not that i’m complaining or anything. XD

Aww, thank you so much! Photography isn’t something that comes easy for me, so I really appreciate that. And, haha, yes! I’m a heavy shopper when it comes to books, as you can tell. XD And food, because I can’t live without that either. 😉

I know! I have a problem. T.T I work on the weekends and I literally spend a good chunk of my money on books (college textbooks and fun books) and food. And I don’t plan to start the orange book about pharmaceutical companies any time soon, but I’m really excited for that one since there have been great controversies about that industry. Everything’s been all about the money. :/

Wow Summer! That’s a lot! And you got most in bargain? Not to mention they’re in hard cover too. Bookstores in America are really really generous LOL. Hope you’ll like Anna and the French Kiss! One of my favorites 😀 And oh, please tell me if those Ellen Hopkins book and Burn for Burn series are good!

In fact, I just checked, I got every book on this list on sale. None of them were full price buys, which is something I’m pretty proud about. I did have another splurge at the end of September though. BookOutlet will be the death of me… but I guess I can’t complain since they actually ship to my country and the rates aren’t as bad as international… And, of course, I’ll keep you posted on the Ellen Hopkins books and Jenny Han’s Burn for Burn trilogy! 😀

Well, at least Unspoken comes out this month so the wait isn’t too bad! I just started it yesterday night, and it is so awesome. You’re going to love it, I’m sure! 😀 LOL. Funny thing, I’m thinking about making one of the next Summer Says posts about obtaining ARCs. 😉 Thank you, Analee! ❤

Yep, that’s the only thing that is stopping me from somehow robbing an ARC of it from someone… Evil cackle 😛 I’m so glad you’re liking it!
Haha what a coincidence! I’d definitely be interested in reading that post, if you do it. ❤

Analee, I definitely encourage you to do so! The worst thing that could happen is that they don’t reply or don’t approve your request. Be confident, girl! But a word of caution, it’s kind of like Netgalley where you suddenly get approved of so many that you can’t read them fast enough. So don’t go request crazy like I did (September was a hectic month of ARCs for me; I didn’t read one non-ARC book). Then again, with your reading speed you’ll probably be fine with the release dates. 😉

Very true! I guess it’s just I have no idea what to say, even though I’ve been given some advice on it before. Also, it can be incredibly confusing sometimes to find the correct imprint, and publisher email, etc. etc. I also have no idea when to send the request email… like, if there’s a book being released in December for example, do I request it a month in advance? 2 months? Sorry I’m kind of rambling and bombarding you with my questions right now… 🙂
Haha you’re too kind! I will definitely try to keep my requesting down to minimum, I learned my lesson when I requested from Netgalley! XD

No, it’s totally alright! If you don’t mind, instead of answering your questions through this comment, I’ll include all of the answers to this and maybe compile an updated list of imprints and their publicity contacts in my Summer Says post! I’ll make sure to save this comment so I don’t forget to address all this. 🙂 I was actually kind of unsure if I wanted to post this post before in fear that I’d appear like an ARC snob or “she thinks she’s a pro blogger now” type of blogger, but you helped me conclude that this may be helpful for some people! 🙂

Yes, that’s totally fine! Whatever is most convenient, which, in this case, is to make a post about it, hehe.
Oh, you must not worry about that, we followers and friends know you’re nothing like that! ❤ I’m glad I helped in making your decision. 🙂
