Dashing Through the Snow Book Tag

Dashing Through the Snow Book Tag

Hi, I hope you all are having a lovely Sunday so far!

Before I introduce this tag I have some really awesome news to share if you haven’t already seen my tweet… I got accepted into pharmacy school this past Tuesday! I’m also done with all my fall semester finals and I’m officially on winter break (that means I’ll be posting/blog hopping more this month!).

So I thought what better way to celebrate the start of my break by scheduling this fun and festive tag, originally created by Astra at A Stranger’s Guide to Novels. I was tagged by Joey at Thoughts and Afterthoughts. Thanks, Joey! I’m so excited to dive right into it since winter is my favorite season ironically.

Name a book you’d like to see under your Christmas tree?
Probably the illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Sorceror’s Stone because I’ve seen it in store several times and it’s completely gorgeous!

I was so tempted to buy it but I ended up just getting that Peppermint Bark Frappucino you see on the left.

A book you’ll be reading during the Christmas season?
Ah well, I plan to try to catch up with my reviewing queue while I’m on break. Plus, there’s so many full price purchases I want to get to before they appear on Book Outlet or the bargain sections of bookstores. But I’m currently reading a super wintery read, My True Love Gave to Me. I’ve only read a couple of the short stories but I really like it so far! It really reminds me of Let It Snow, another young adult holiday anthology that I read and loved years ago.

It was also really nice that I was sent this even though it was released in October 2014. So thank you again, St. Martin’s Press!

Favorite Christmas movie?
Santa Clause! It’s a humorous film, and Eric Lloyd was so adorably cute as a kid in this.

Point Proven

My point proven. Source.

Do you like snow?
Oh my gosh, YES! This is kind of the main reason why I love winter so much. But keep in mind I live in the south, so we don’t have inches of snow like up north. More like powdery white stuff coating our lawns. Not enough to require us to shovel or anything like that. It’s just super, snowglobe-like pretty!

Name a character you would like to spend Christmas day with?
I would probably choose the Weasleys. I really adored how warm and welcoming the family was towards Harry. I think it’d be great to wear ugly, itchy sweaters and drink cocoa with that sweet family.

To give or to receive?
Definitely give. I don’t really celebrate Christmas, so I don’t expect people to get me anything. But I like to give close people in my life gifts during the season. I enjoy Christmas shopping and wrapping gifts. The best part is watching people open presents. Especially children.

What fictional place would you like to spend Christmas at?
This is a hard one. Maybe Camp Half-Blood? I like the idea of spending Christmas with a lot of people. Plus, I’ve never been to a camp before. Also, isn’t that the safest place for half-bloods and regular people too?

Fondest Christmas memory?
This is kind of weird but I really don’t remember specific memories of Christmas. Like I said, me and my dad don’t really celebrate it since we’re Buddhist. The salon is closed and, of course, I’m off from school so we usually head up to Charlotte or down to Atlanta to the predominantly Vietnamese areas and eat at a nice restaurant. So spending time with my dad, I guess. 🙂

Can you say “Christmas tree” ten times fast in a row (while pronouncing them correctly)?
I just tried it; and I can! I think I have more trouble with my ‘W’ and ‘R’s to be honest. So that wasn’t much of a tongue twister for me.

I tag –

Like I mentioned in my Secret Life of a Book Blogger Tag post, from now on I’ll be tagging my usual blogger buddies. And some of them are inactive in the blogosphere, but I’ll continue to tag them unless they specify they have become tag/award free or will be taking an official hiatus. I also made sure to tag bloggers that haven’t done this tag, at least to my knowledge. But why not spread the seasonal cheer? I tag everyone reading this post!

And like I last mentioned in that post as well, I’ll be adding 5 bloggers in additional to my “usual” list. This time I want to tag and get to know more these 5 bloggers:

So that’s it! As always, thank you for reading.

As this posts, I’ll probably be at the movie theaters watching Mockingjay Part Two with my friend. Depending how good the film is I may write a review. Have a nice day, everyone! 🙂

Ooh, I have to admit, the illustrated edition of HP is really pretty! I would probably buy it to just look at. XD
Oh, The Santa Clause is such a great movie! Gah, that one and Christmas with the Kranks are my favorites.
Thanks for tagging me! (I feel so honored to be on your ‘usual blogger buddy’!) I can’t wait to do it!

I swear, it was so hard for me to part with the illustrated HP at the bookstore. I still regret my departure from that aisle that day. XD And I haven’t watched Christmas with the Kranks before; maybe I’ll give it a go this year. And hehe, you’re very welcome, Trey! 😀

Hehe, I know the feeling! Especially around this time of year, I’m like “GAH, BUT I HAVE NO MONEY!” Hehe!
It’s such a great movie! It’s on Netflix if you have that. Hehe, hope you like it if you do watch it!

CONGRATULATIONS SUMMER! I’m so happy for you! You’re one step closer to becoming a pharmacist! 😀 I’m really curious as to what kind of pharmacist you wanna be? I know there’s a plethora of jobs out there but the only pharmacists I encounter are like drugstore pharmacists.
Eyyyyy I’m Buddhist too! My family still does the whole gift-giving thing though cause it’s fun haha (but decidedly less fun once I grow up but oh well)
And I would be over the moon if someone got me that Harry Potter illustrated edition! I’ve been craving Harry Potter ever since I found out this morning they’re opening the Wizarding World in Hollywood (like an hour away from me) in April 2016. I’m so excited..

      THANKS SO MUCH, Carolyn!! ❤

My ideal pharmacy would be the hospital setting working with the outpatient center. But I’ve also thought about compounding pharmacy since I’ve heard there’s never a dull day there; and the idea of creating special, customized medications sounds interesting. ^.^ But I guess I’ll find out in my P4 year with rotations.

And LOL, I feel like most of us Viets are? And you’re right growing up is no fun. 😛

AND WHAT?? That’s so cool! I went to the one in Florida a couple of years ago but that was before they finished Diagon Alley, which kind of sucks. But if you do go, you should make a post about it! 😀

That’s wonderful news – congrats on getting into Pharmacy School 🙂 Pleased for you! Sounds like you’ve worked very hard this fall. Thanks for the tag!
I don’t celebrate xmas either, but I did once when I was 13! I prefer to give presents too, as it feels nice to give 🙂 and I like to get creative when wrapping gifts! Snow is very pretty, but I hate the ice and awful brown slush. It hasn’t snowed in the last 2 years in London! So it’d be nice to see a bit of snow 🙂

Thank you so much, Thuong! 😀 This was a tough semester but it’s all over. I still have one more semester, and I don’t start pharmacy school until fall 2016 but I’m very excited.

And yes, wrapping presents is the best part for me! I’m really loving the simplistic gold look these days. Oh my gosh, I know what you mean. Fresh snow is so beautiful but once people start playing in it it’s pretty yucky. And oh gosh! Over here it hasn’t been that cold for the winter, so I doubt we’ll get snow too. That proves how global warming is really speeding up. :/

Good luck in your last semester! 😉 It’ll all be worth it. Well done, you! Ohh gold sounds like nice wrapping. I really love brown paper wrapping with doilies and string – I think it looks handmade and vintage 🙂 pinterest has got lots of ideas! And its hell walking in ice :/ When I was 13, it snowed every year but its only the last 2 years, it hasn’t. Didn’t know it would have something to do with global warming :O

Congrats on being accepted to pharmacy school!

I’m a movie maven and my fave Christmas movie would be A Christmas Carol with actor George C. Scott as Scrooge. The old curmudgeon gets a human touch from the ghosts and Scott is terrific. A close second would be the old version of Miracle on 34th Street–just because the hero who comes to Santa’s rescue is a lawyer–like moi.

    Happy holidays!

      Thanks so much, Tom!

Ah, A Christmas Carol is a classic. It’s actually the only Dickens read that I enjoy (I’m not much of a fan of his other work honestly). And Miracle on 34th Street is another must see classic; I always watch it when it comes on television on Christmas.

Hope you have a wonderful and safe holiday with your family and friends, as well!

I saw the illustrated Harry Potter at my local bookstore and I wanted to stroke it and look through it’s beautiful pictures but all the copies were covered in plastic wrap and I don’t think removing it was allowed 😛 It’s so expensive though. 😮 Thanks for the tag! I’ve been inactive for so long but reading this made we want to do it and get back to the blogosphere 🙂 This was a lot of fun to read!

Haha, when I saw it I caressed that thing as if it was a baby. It’s beautiful! And that’s very interesting; I think the only books that are wrapped over here are the ones with explicit content like 50 Shades of Grey and other erotica series. In the States, it’s probably a precaution thing since a lot of children browse the book sections in stores. BUT I KNOW; why must it be so expensive. 😮 And aww, you’re welcome. Take your time with all the tags/awards. 🙂

Aw, it doesn’t snow here… how much I wish that! I was tempted by that new HP edition as well, it was so beautiful, my friends had to pull me out from the bookstore! Thanks for tagging me! (I guarantee you that it’s gonna take me a year to complete all the tags and awards that you’ve nominated me alone! 😛 ) And oh, before I forget CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! ❤

Aww, that’s too bad. Well you definitely need to visit me over here and we can play in the snow together. 😛 Haha, that’s okay! Please take your time. However long it takes I’ll look forward to your tag/award posts. ^.^ And THANK YOU, Poulami!!
