Xingsings is a Year Old + Blogiversary/Birthday Giveaway

Blogiversary 1

Well, gosh, I’ve been on a roll lately, haven’t I? I mean three posts in three consecutive days? ๐Ÿ˜› I hope everyone had a blast celebrating the new year yesterday! Honestly I didn’t really do much but read and relax, which is the best type of day in my opinion. Todayย I thought before I went to work I’d write this post.

I’m going to try to keep this short and sweet so it won’t be too complicated.ย As you’ve read from the title of this post, this blog hits one year old today!

And January is a pretty special month for me because… it’s my birthday month! That’s right, I was born in the winter despite my name. XD In twenty days (January 22) I’ll be 20 years old!

As you guys know, I sort of splurge year round on books as you can tell from my book hauls…. so this month my goal is not to buy as many books because I’ll be saving that money to host a giveaway for you. To express my appreciation for the support and kindness you all have given to me and my blog, Xingsings. It’s really been a fantastic year, and I am thankful for the friendshipsย that came with creating this blog. And I guess this giveaway is also in part to spread birthday cheer? XD

I’m not sure if I’ll continue doing future giveaways for blogiversaries. Let’s just do one step at a time. But since this is the first one and a special birthday transition, I’ve decided to do it.

Anyway, the details for the giveaway will be down below. Let me know if you have an questions in the comments or by email. My email is sumlynnguyen@aol.com.

So that’s all! Happy January and good luck!

Happy one year and early birthday! I just stopped by after talking to you on Twitter a bit and I was pleasantly surprised to have seen this! Some of the things I want to do in 2016 are read 75 books, get my driver’s license, and possibly self-host :).

Thank you, Jess! Sounds like you have an exciting 2016 in store for you. Good luck with getting your license and your achieving your reading goal! Self hosting sounds really appealing to me as well, but I probably won’t be doing that until I run out of media capacity on WP. XD

Happy blogoversary! A year goes by in a blink the first time when you’re still figuring out the finer points of blogging but the second year should be smooth sailing. ๐Ÿ˜‰ A giveaway is a super idea for a celebration – you’re very generous. ๐Ÿ˜€

We also share our birthday! ๐Ÿ˜€ Isn’t this amazing? (And another blogger as well, aparently – LOL. January 22nd people unite!) Enjoy your twenties to the full and don’t be afraid to go out of your comfort zones. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you, Alicia! Haha… there’s no such thing as book buying bans and reducing the amount of books we purchase. It’s kind of required to be book buying obsessive when we’re bookworms. Even so, good luck! ๐Ÿ™‚

Happy blogoversary! First time dropping by at your blog but it’s always nice to see blogs in the community celebrating anniversaries and such ๐Ÿ™‚ Wishing you all the best in this new year of blogging, and happy early birthday! Thanks for the lovely giveaway ๐Ÿ™‚

As for resolutions…they’re not formal or anything, but one of them is to try getting through my TBR queue starting from some of the older titles that have been sitting on the list longest! ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi Lianne! Thanks so much for stopping by and taking the time to comment. And thank you for the kind wishes! ^.^

And that sounds like a fantastic resolution. I’ve been saying that for years but it never happens (Les Mis and many other titles are still collecting dust on my shelves, haha). XD I do have a couple of priority reads that I want to get to this year though. ๐Ÿ™‚ Hope you achieve your goal!

I think one of my big new years resolutions would be to try to make time for reading. Im so busy all the time, as Im a student, and so find myself wasting time when I do have free time. I just wanna have more structured time for reading so that I dont end up reading like 5 books a year. :3

    Liked by 1 person

    • Summer @ Xingsings says:

That sounds like a great goal, Fatma! Though I classify myself as a book blogger, I certainly don’t designate a lot of my time to read as much as others, so I totally can relate. Good luck with prioritizing your time and making room for books! ๐Ÿ™‚

First of all, happy blogoversary! I also turn 20 yrs old this year (on April) yay ๐Ÿ˜€ I’m actually about to make my new year’s resolutions/goals right now! Some of the stuff I’d like to accomplish this year are: to read 50 books, stay updated with books & blogosphere (I kinda failed the last 4 months during 2015 due to school le sigh), and use a dang planner to keep myself organized. Thanks for this awesome giveaway!

    • Summer @ Xingsings says:

Thanks so much, Leigh! That’s so cool. I can’t believe teenagehood is ending so soon; we’re getting old, haha. But I’m sure there’s a lot of wonderful experiences in store for us in the 20s. And you totally should! I never used a planner until this year, which was the best thing I did for myself. It really kept me organized and helped me prioritize my time so that I was more productive. Ah, I so can understand. It’s hard juggling blogging amongst school, extracurriculars, and real life, but it is very worthwhile. Good luck with your bookish and blogging goals. ๐Ÿ˜€
