July was a good month in terms of book buying for me! I’m sure the pictures will make it appear like I bought more than I really did because I tend to pair my bookmarks with their corresponding books when I do “book photoshoots” (I’m finally catching on with the Bookstagram jargon, hehe), but I actually only bought 9 books which is less than what I normally splurge on. And all of them were (of course) on sale or sold at a bargain price for ridiculously cheap.
Of the ones I bought, I’ve read Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda, which I enjoyed immensely last year, L-DK, and Kamisama Kiss. As for the rest, I’m pretty shocked that I ended up taking them home. I primarily gravitate towards YA literature, but I guess I was in need of stocking up my adult literary fiction and nonfiction TBR piles since they’re severely lacking, haha.
And, no surprise, I did go crazy with bookmarks. shrugs I can’t help but want to collect all the reading buddies Happy Hello Art creates. 😉
So that’s all that I really wanted to say about July’s purchases. Summer, you deserve a pat on the back for being pithier than usual. I’ve noticed how a lot of my posts have been crazy long lately. I promise it’s not intentional or anything. I’m going to make an effort to be more concise in the future!
As always, all the links will go to Goodreads and/or Myanimelist if it’s manga. And, as stated implicitly earlier, I purchase all of my bookmarks from Happy Hello Art on Etsy.
Haha, I’m only now noticing that I haven’t posted a lot of these photos on my Instagram yet. …I’m sorry to say that you may see them again in the near future, lol. I know, the repetitiveness of this blog and its social media… Anyway, thank you so much for sticking to the end and taking a look at this post. Have a wonderful day! 🙂

Thanks, Poulami!
Ah yes, I know… I can’t help it though. 😛 Right! Bone Clocks drew me in at the bookstore from the cover alone. XD

No, Summer, it just makes it appear like you’re turning into a bookmark blog LOL 😉
I love the assassin bookmark! It’s so adorable but badass at the same time.
I’ve heard good things about the Iluminaries and its writing but apparently it’s hard to digest.
And omg, I was looking at the Star Wars bookmarks and I was thinking they should make a Star Trek one because I just saw the movie last month and it just rekindled my love for it.

Hehe, I was trying to downplay my obsession. I guess you didn’t fall for it, Carolyn. >.< But I’ve really been better. I didn’t buy any for a couple months after this post. But then I broke my no buying bookmarks streak when I made an order this month; I bought some as Christmas gifts but then got some for myself, lol.
And I’ve heard about the tedious writing in The Luminaries as well. But it’ll be a while before I get to it I reckon, so I’m not going to worry about that just yet.
…I feel ashamed to admit this but I’ve never seen anything Star Trek or Star Wars. I’ll fix that someday, too.

OMG, Amazingly pretty books. Bone Clocks is stunning. You have to tell me how that one goes. I started reading it last month and didnt like it so much. I wonder if I should pick it up again. I have heard Red Rising is amazing. It is on my TBR

Hehe, thanks so much, Resh Susan! Oh no, I’m sorry to hear that. It’ll probably be a while before I reach for Bone Clocks since it isn’t a priority among the other books I hauled in the last year. But, certainly!

OH MY GOSH I WANT ALL THE BOOKMARKS! Super cute! Especially the boba tea one – I NEED that one in my life – I’m addicted to bubble tea!! 😀

HEHE. Thank you, Geraldine. The fact that they’re adorable are the sole reason behind why I collect them; I mean there’s no way I could use all of them at once. Yay, I’m so happy to meet a fellow boba tea lover! Do you have a favorite flavor? Taro, avocado, and oolong are mine. XD

What is a favourite boba tea flavour? HOW CAN ONE CHOOSE?
I think some of mine are the mango QQ, brown rice green tea, and the general pearl milk tea!
I’ve never heard of avocado boba tea, but I WOULD GET THAT. I love avocados, and I WISH THAT WAS HERE IN BRISBANE! I have to try that!!

Your bookstagram game is on point and I am impressed and the not so large book haul. You definitely deserve a pat on the back for this achievement and possibly a celebratory treat 😉

Loving your book hauls, Summer! And your new style of book photography is so spot on! Well done you – that’s great that you brought less books this time, keeping that book buying habits under control 😉 Love all your bookmarks, I keep saying – they are the cutest!! The cover of House in the Sky is gorgeous ❤ I love the foiled gold with the birds and the typography. Hope you enjoy all these new books 🙂

That means a lot to me, thank you, Thuong! ❤ Yes, i must say I did pretty good with practicing self control the past few months, haha. And thank you, I’ve grown to accept that I enjoy collecting these reading buddies (aka the magnetic bookmarks). Thank you, happy reading to you as well. 🙂

KAMISAMA KISS!! I love that manga, it’s so cute and entertaining and probably one of the best shoujos out there. Also, all your bookmarks are so adorable, I’m in love. I might just splurge and buy some. 😉

I can’t believe this but I have yet to start reading Kamisama Kiss! However, I did watch both seasons of the anime and a few of the OVAs. I love the cast so much; plus chibi Tomoe is too adorbs. I need to make Kamisama Kiss, the manga, a priority in 2017 since I know the series recently finished coming out.
Thank you, Summer! You should definitely treat yourself and purchase a couple. 🙂
