Hi there! I’ve really, really slacked off this past year and haven’t been been blogging. Aside from book reviews, one of my favorite posts to share in the past were my book hauls. (Shameless plug: I do most of my hauls though my Instagram story these days though!) Anyway, I think my last one was around this time of the year, and I sort of miss doing them! And since there’s no way I can recall all the books I’ve bought in the last 365 days… I decided to share an updated bookshelf tour (which will just show all of my books – new and old) instead. Now that I think about it, my last tour was from early 2017 so this was probably overdue anyway. Also since my last bookshelf post, I actually unhauled a bunch (like 100 books). I’ll also include a picture of those but I have the titles turned away from the camera; mainly because it was for an Instagram photo and I can’t retake it now because I’ve since given away those books. :’) But yeah! That’s all I have for this preface. I hope you guys like the pictures! (Feel free to enlarge the photos by clicking on them.)
P.S. Everything, for the most part, is by genre and then split into subgenres. However, the manga section is alphabetical, with all the Hayao Miyazaki works in “H” and Makoto Shinkai works in “M.”
P.P.S. Also, not pictured are ones I have out on my desk (TID series, Queen of Shadows, The Shape of Water, and Almost Impossible)
In case you wanted to see things in the gallery format… here’s that too! 🙂

You are so organized! I feel like a failure. I need to do something like this because I can never find specific books. Beautiful shelves!

Omg, don’t say that! Honestly, organizing my shelves is both a stressful and therapeutic process. Like you, I hate finding the books and discovering what works/doesn’t work… And it’s actually a major workout (or I’m just really out of shape, haha). But the end product is always satisfying. Thank you! 🙂

It really does feel like a workout. I was just moving around some of my books and it kind of sucks.

Lol, exactly why I’m too lazy to take bookish or bookstagram pictures these days! I think being a blogger is tough but promoting on other platforms (e.g. Instagram and Booktube) have struggles too it seems. XD

AH, thank you, Becky! (I’m going to have to admit I’ve become such a hardcover snob these days.)

Wow, your bookshelves are so pretty! I’m in awe (and kind of jealous) 😛
I spotted the Tiger’s Curse Series in there and omg what a throwback! I loved that series when I was in high school! Hmm, I should go reread it sometime…

Hehe, thank you so much, Keri! And good eye! Seeing the Tiger’s Curse series also makes me feel nostalgic every time. To be completely honest, I probably wouldn’t like the series as much as I did when I was a young teenager… but I definitely want to give it a reread someday as well. XD

Oh, I totally feel ya: I’ve become so much more critical about the books I read and I’m guessing that a lot of my favorites from years ago would not impress me nowadays! It makes me slightly nervous to go back and reread this series because I don’t want to tarnish the nostalgia of it!

Eek, thank you so much, Marie! Honestly, they’re not that organized most of the time but this was right after cleaning things up, lol. XD

Oh gosh, thank you, Kat! I recently had to unhaul a bunch of books because of that problem. (But I really feel like it’s an endless cycle since I know those empty shelves will fill up in a matter of time and I’ll run out of space again, LOL.)

I am jealous of your manga collection! I recently just got into reading manga (“I only watch the anime” was my excuse back then haha) and I’ve been meaning to start a collection of my own soon. Your bookshelves are so lovely and organised, by the way! 😍

Oh gosh, thank you, Miguel! 🙂 I’ve only recently started collecting manga now that I’ve been working two jobs but, man, they’re so expensive. T_T I try to catch the rare sales when I can. But yes! You should definitely start your own collection if you can. ❤

I’m late on this but omg Summer, your bookshelves are ICONIC. I’d apologize for the caps but I don’t want to because seeing your gorgeously organized, colorful, well-lighted shelves brought my heart happiness. Thank you for sharing, and I hope you’re able to practice self-compassion even if you haven’t been posting as regularly, reading as regularly, etc.!
