Happy New Year + Looking Back at 2016 + 2017 Resolutions

happy-2017

Happy new year, everyone! 🎉

Gee, where does the time go, right? Though 2016 wasn’t the best year for the world, I had a pretty okay 2016 myself. I left teenagehood and started my 20s. I began pursuing my dream career by beginning pharmacy school. I managed to still schedule posts for this blog every month (some months with a mere 1 post-but still), completed my Goodreads reading challenge of 30 books with surpassing it by 16, and learned to achieve a better (personal) balance between my internet and real life.

Anyway, I’m in disbelief with all that has happened this past year-the bad and the good; it’s unbelievable that we’ve made it to another year already. But I hope that this year will come with good (if not better) surprises for us all. And I wish you all a very safe and healthy 2017.

And with a new year I think that means another list of resolutions is due? But before I share what goals I have for 2017, I think it’s only proper to see if I was at all successful with the ones from 2016 first.

Here are my finalized thoughts on that subject:

Xingsings is a Year Old + Blogiversary/Birthday Giveaway

Blogiversary 1

Well, gosh, I’ve been on a roll lately, haven’t I? I mean three posts in three consecutive days? 😛 I hope everyone had a blast celebrating the new year yesterday! Honestly I didn’t really do much but read and relax, which is the best type of day in my opinion. Today I thought before I went to work I’d write this post.

I’m going to try to keep this short and sweet so it won’t be too complicated. As you’ve read from the title of this post, this blog hits one year old today!

And January is a pretty special month for me because… it’s my birthday month! That’s right, I was born in the winter despite my name. XD In twenty days (January 22) I’ll be 20 years old!

First

Honestly, I’m not sure what first blog posts are supposed to look like. I actually contemplated whether I should have skipped this post altogether and went on with a more meaningful one (say a book review), but then I realized that even the first introductory blog posts are important even if they’re not informative or interesting.

From many blogs I follow and read, I am intrigued by how bloggers write so eloquently and how they even start their blog. Usually I creep their “About” page but that does not even suffice; so I usually search for their first blog post. Am I the only one that does that? If so, huh. I may be the weird one then. (Nah, I know I’m weird, haha.)

I think first posts are significant because, for a committed blog, it shows the growth and development of the blogger. Blogs are not only used to share opinions and thoughts, but it also documents a blogger’s voice and serves as an introduction to the blogging journey.

So even if this post appears embarrassing to read in the future, I’ll still be grateful that I did write something like this. Hey, it might even be more fun than embarrassing. Who knows?

Anyway, Happy New Year, blogger world! Cheers, you have one more in the blogosphere!

Update 6/15/15: I was perusing my archives, and umm wow, I made absolutely no sense in this. (And I totally sound like a creeper.) XD
